Fifth person charged in Taylor slaying (AP)

Prosecutors said Monday May 12, 2008 they will not seek the death penalty against four people charged with murdering Redskins star Sean Taylor because the accused shooter was a minor when the crime was committed.

Prosecutors in Miami say a fifth person has been charged in the slaying of Washington Redskins star Sean Taylor. Miami-Dade County State Attorney's Office spokesman Ed Griffith says Wednesday that 16-year-old Timothy Brown is charged with first-degree murder under a sealed warrant. Taylor died of massive blood loss after he was shot at his Miami-area home during a botched robbery in November.


Newspaper sorry for false Spygate report (AP)
The Boston Herald apologized Wednesday for falsely reporting the New England Patriots videotaped a walkthrough by the St. Louis Rams a day before the 2002 Super Bowl. Bills cut Everett so he can get benefits (AP)
The Buffalo Bills released Kevin Everett on Tuesday, clearing the way for the former tight end to receive disability benefits for the spinal cord injury that ended his career. Everett was initially paralyzed from the neck down after a violent collision with then-Denver receiver Domenik Hixon on a kickoff return in last year's season opener.
Hambrick gets 5 years for selling crack (AP)
A Tampa judge has sentenced former NFL running back Troy Hambrick to five years in prison for selling crack cocaine. The former Dallas Cowboys and Arizona Cardinals player was sentenced Tuesday by U.S. District Judge Steven D. Merryday. Hambrick pleaded guilty on Feb. 26 to one count of distributing 50 grams or more of crack cocaine.
